Community College Times: Providing Information for a Successful Transfer

Community College Times published an article on the success of Blinn College’s transfer program. Blinn College in Texas boasts the highest percent of academic students who transfer to and graduate leading four-year institutions in the state. The majority of Blinn transfer students attend Texas A&M University and Sam Houston State University (SHSU). 
“Debra LaCour, vice president of academic affairs at the college, attributes the college’s success to students’ working closely with counselors and faculty members in their specific subject areas. She believes that’s key in an effective transfer process ... The college also recently decided to implement the same student administrative system— Banner Unified Digital Campus from SunGard Higher Education —that SHSU and Texas A&M use, which makes the transfer process easier for students, according to college officials.”
