Tiffin University Chooses SunGard Higher Education to Help Keep Pace with Growing Enrollment and Improve Retention
PowerCAMPUS UDC Will Provide Improved 24/7 Administrative Services in Support of Student Success
MALVERN, Pa, Oct. 06, 2009 — Tiffin University has licensed the PowerCAMPUS Unified Digital Campus (UDC) from SunGard Higher Education to help increase the quality of its administrative services to its rapidly growing student population and to further the institution’s goal of improving retention.
According to Tiffin, a private, residential university in Ohio, enrollment has grown by 82 percent in the past five years, putting a strain on the institution’s disparate databases. At peak times, like registration, many students are not able to access the University’s online applications. In addition, working with the multiple databases creates extra clerical work for staff. For example, staff must re-enter data in multiple databases. The University is implementing the PowerCAMPUS UDC to help improve constituent service while reducing the demands on staff time.
“Implementing an integrated system like PowerCAMPUS is critical for us to not only keep pace with the administrative needs of our growing enrollment but also to improve the quality of those services,” said James White, vice president of finance and administration, Tiffin University. “If we can provide quality administrative services, our students can stay focused on their learning and academic success at the university, thus contributing to our goal of increasing our retention rate.”
“We congratulate Tiffin University on their tremendous success in growing their enrollment,” said Renee Pacini, vice president, SunGard Higher Education. “The University has been very successful at providing a private educational experience at a cost that is competitive with public institutions. The addition of the PowerCAMPUS UDC will provide Tiffin University with improved student services which in turn can lead to better retention.”
