Humber College Selects SunGard Higher Education Banner
Digital Campus to Help Promote Student Success
MALVERN, Pa, July 23, 2010 - Humber, one of the fastest growing colleges in Ontario and a leading polytechnic institution within Canada,
will implement SunGard Higher Education’s Banner Digital Campus. A strategic initiative for Humber,
the implementation is expected to help improve services, promote student
success, manage enrolment growth and enhance decision making through greater
access to information. The modern
integrated technology platform also will provide enhancements to business
processes.
Humber joins a global user community that includes an
additional 45 Canadian institutions that have implemented SunGard Higher
Education’s Banner Digital Campus. In
addition, Humber can collaborate with SunGard Higher
Education customers worldwide via The Commons, SunGard Higher Education’s new online community created to help facilitate
open discussion and collaboration by connecting customers and employees around
the world. SunGard’s Web 2.0 based The
Commons, annual Canadian Banner Users Conference, and Banner Ontario Leadership
Team provide SunGard customers in Canada with a variety of options for sharing
expertise, ideas, challenges and best practices that can help improve higher
education. In addition, as part of
SunGard’s global network of solution centres, Canadian institutions receive
support from a local SunGard office, based in Toronto.
The solution centre develops regional localizations including a Student
Financial Aid solution designed specifically for Canada, and provides ongoing
maintenance and improvements for Banner solutions.
"A focus on higher education was a key factor
for Humber when selecting SunGard," said Rani K. Dhaliwal, vice president,
Finance and Administration, Humber College. "SunGard’s Banner Digital Campus
solution is clearly aligned with Humber’s
goals. Further, the SunGard team
demonstrated depth of knowledge and experience from working with higher
education customers in Canada
and across the globe. We are excited
about our relationship with SunGard and the promise of a new platform that will
support our students."
“Our Open Digital Campus approach
supports Humber’s vision of creating a functionally-rich, learner-focused
environment that will help the institution sharpen its institutional
competitiveness, customer service and the overall educational experience for
all members of the campus community,” said Bruce Bleiman, senior vice president,
Customer Relationships, SunGard Higher Education.
