Beginning July 1, 2010, all Stafford (subsidized and unsubsidized), PLUS, and Consolidation loans may be made from the William D. Ford Federal Direct Student Loan (Direct Loan) Program; thus, ending, as of that date, any new loans made under the Federal Family Education Loan (FFEL) Program.
